Huíla: Serra da Leba

Serra da Leba seems to be the name for this entire area of mountains and waterfalls. But when Angolans talk about Serra da Leba, this road is usually what they are imagining. The serpentine road that connects Lubango with Namibe is iconic, appearing on old postcards, advertisements, music videos. I couldn´t find much information about its contruction online, but I will keep looking because I´m very interesting to know who designed it and when.

This is the valley with the waterfalls, where we were hiking in the previous posts. It is just to the left of the road.
